Residential Water Usage Billing

The Village of Schaumburg bills for water usage based off of the previous month’s usage. The village charges in increments of 1,000 gallons of water. An example is, if your household used 1,500 gallons of water last month, you will be charged for 1,000 gallons of water on the current bill and the 500 gallons of water will carry forward to the next bill. Bills will arrive in your mailbox on or near the 1st of the month.

The village offers a variety of payment options for residents and businesses:

Auto Draft:	Automatic payment through your bank.
Online:	Make a one time payment using your credit/debit card online. The village accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card or eCheck.
By Mail:	Water bills include a self-addressed envelope for easy return.
By Phone:	888-829-4485 - Please have your full account number available.*
In Person:	Village Hall - 101 Schaumburg Court, Schaumburg, IL 60193, or place in drop-off box located on the west side of Village Hall View hours of operation

High Water Usage

High water usage could be a result of many factors. Seasonality use such as watering the yard, garden or filling up a swimming pool may contribute to higher than normal usage. Other higher than normal usage can also be attributed to guests during holidays, kids returning from college, or excess laundry. Potentially leaky faucets or pipes and aging appliances may all contribute to higher than expected water usage. If you suspect your toilet is leaking, you may conduct a food coloring test. This involves putting a few drops of food coloring in the reservoir tank of your toilet and seeing if the color then appears in the bowl.

Residents have the ability to check their invoices along with historical water usage by going to our WebPay portal and entering your customer number and a bill number. Then you click on the invoice number and then “View Water Consumption History”.

If you believe that there may be a problem with your water meter, you may call (847) 923-4520 to schedule a water meter checkup and potential repair.

Shut-Offs and Robo Calls

The village will issue one final water and sewer service shut-off notice to accounts that have delinquent charges over $100.00. Prompt payment by the shut-off date listed on the final shut off notice will be necessary to avoid water from being shut off. If a resident is put onto the shut off list, the village strives to provide an additional courtesy call from an automated service to the primary phone number on file when that month’s bill is sent out. If your payment is made after the shut-off date, your service is at risk of disconnection. You must contact a village customer service representative by dialing 311 in the village or call (847) 923-4520 outside of Schaumburg to notify us of your payment. Failure to do so in a timely manner will result in service disconnection.

The Village of Schaumburg, enables anyone to make donations to a fund set aside to assist Schaumburg residents in situations that are determined to be legitimate emergencies. Residents can donate online.
