The devastating acts of terrorism on 9-11-01 have left many citizens of Schaumburg concerned about future incidents in the United States. "It is the responsibility of the Schaumburg Police Department to preserve the public peace, prevent crime, and protect life and property". The department philosophy of community-oriented policing strives to include all members of the community with neighborhood and village-wide problems. With that in mind, the Police Department has developed this web page which holds specific information on what you as a citizen or business person in Schaumburg can do should an alert be issued through the National Terrorism Advisory System.

The following recommendations have been put in place to coincide with an alert to a potential or actual terrorist threat. By taking preparatory action now with what you, your family, your business, and school could do should the threat level change, you will be more prepared and able to assist if another emergency arises.
