The Village of Schaumburg seeks talented, motivated staff, with a broad range of backgrounds and professional experience, to be able to achieve our organizational goals and the service demands of our residents and businesses. The Village's Compensation and Benefit strategy is designed to support the village in attracting, rewarding, and retaining top talent. For those employees with a union affiliation, wages and benefits are ultimately dictated through applicable collective bargaining agreements.

For purposes of determining salaries and benefits the Village of Schaumburg not only compares itself with the Village of Arlington Heights, Village of Bolingbrook, City of Des Plaines, City of Evanston, Village of Hoffman Estates, Village of Lombard, Village of Orland Park, Village of Palatine, Village of Skokie, and Village of Tinley Park, but also the private sector to remain competitive. The Department of Human Resources monitors salary and benefit information in the market on a regular basis. In addition, other factors, such as cost of living, employee performance, the private market (where applicable), and union contract obligations, are used in determining the Village's compensation and benefits package.

The village values its employees and the contribution they make to the community. It should be noted that all sworn public safety employees do not participate in social security. If you have any questions about the information provided here please contact the Director of Human Resources.
