Transportation Services
The Village of Schaumburg and other participating agencies have a variety of transportation services available for seniors and persons with disabilities.
RTA Discounts for Seniors and People with Disabilities
RTA issues Reduced Fare and Ride Free permit cards online and in-person. This card is available for seniors or for people with a disability and allows qualifying riders to ride Metra, Pace buses, and CTA buses and trains at a reduced rate.
Senior and Disabled Taxi Program
The Village of Schaumburg offers discount coupons for taxi service to qualifying seniors (65 years of age or older) or disabled residents of Schaumburg.Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) Program
The DART program is a bus service that is demand driven- with a 90-minute rolling schedule. It operates solely within the municipal boundaries of Village of Schaumburg except for Harper College in Palatine and the Township of Schaumburg’s main office in Hoffman Estates. Service is open to the public and operates five days a week, Monday to Friday. Discounted rates are provided to seniors, persons with disabilities, students through Grade 12, to and from school, and children ages 7 to 11.RTA Mobility Management

Township Senior Services
Schaumburg Township Senior Services
For Schaumburg residents living south of Algonquin Road, east of Barrington Road, north of Devon Avenue, and east of IL-53. Schaumburg Township can be reached at (847) 884-0030.
The Township also administers the TRIP program, a Schaumburg Township state-funded pilot program which provides transportation across township lines for medical reasons for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. This inter-township transportation program covers much of Northwest Cook County.
