To help expedite problems with utility boxes in your yard, it is best to try and identify which utility company owns the box and work directly with that Company to set up a work order ticket to fix the problem. This allows the resident to track the ticket with the company and received updates more quickly.

If you have Utility Boxes in your yard that are attached as in the above photo, they are commonly known as a Joint Pedestal. This means that they belong to Commonwealth Edison and AT&T (Electric and Telecommunications/Telephone). If they are making an unusual noise or sparking, rusting away or broken, leaning or fallen over, or have exposed wires/cables or any other problems you should call ComEd at 1-800-EDISON-1 ( 1-800-334-7661).

As stated above, please get a tracking or work order number from ComEd for follow-up or future reference. The electric box or pedestal needs to be repaired and secured first, then ComEd will contact AT&T to service their side of the Joint Pedestal.
