United States Census Data

Since its incorporation in 1956, the Village of Schaumburg has grown from a population of 130 to what is now the 12th largest community in Illinois. The population increase in the Village from the mid-1960s to 1990 was one of the fastest in the country. Population growth since 1990 has been slowed with little land left for residential development. Future population growth will be contingent upon the economy, household size, and redevelopment opportunities.

According to the official data recently released by the U.S. Census Bureau, Schaumburg’s population increased by 6% from 2010 to 78,723 in 2020. More detailed Census demographic data (e.g. age/ethnicity/housing/etc.) will be made available as it is released by the U.S. Census Bureau.
