Managed annually and maintained on a case-by-case basis by village social workers through the Schaumburg Police Department, the Community Assistance Fund assists area victims of domestic violence and other crimes, as well as other families in crisis situations that are referred from the police department.
Working together with the village’s Police Social Services Unit, in-kind contributions from organizations as well as the general public can help provide critical services such as transportation, housing, help with legal fees, and other expenses that other agencies cannot assist with for Schaumburg families in crisis.
The village is seeking to partner with additional businesses and organizations to ensure the growth of the Community Assistance Fund where 100 percent of contributions will directly benefit local families when a crime or other crisis occurs.
