In order to assist our business community in reaching full compliance with our adopted Fire Code, the Schaumburg Fire Department implemented a Web-Based Reporting System that allows service providers/contractors (i.e. inspection companies) to submit fire and life safety system inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) records on your behalf.
In May of 2019, the Schaumburg Fire Department partnered with www.InspectionReportsOnline.net (IROL), which provides the platform for service providers to submit all ITM records, in real-time, to our department; streamlining the process and providing an effective means of tracking systems and their readiness.
Fire and life safety systems are the first line of defense if a fire occurs, which is why the reliance on the conditions of these systems is important for reducing loss of property and lives. As a property owner/manager, it is your responsibility to ensure fire and life safety systems are inspected on a regular basis and deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner.
As part of our partnership, IROL staff completes reviews of all submitted fire and life-safety system inspection reports. When deficiencies are identified on a fire and life-safety system, you will be notified by an IROL representative. Our current IROL Compliance Reviewer is Robert (Bob) Pyzyna. The notifications will indicate that a deficiency was identified and advise you to work with your inspection company to have the issues addressed. If you are experiencing any delays in completion of the repairs, please communicate these issues to IROL.
Final determination of all necessary repairs and any enforcement actions are under the jurisdiction of the fire department. If you have any questions regarding the deficiencies on your inspection report, please feel free to contact Michael Rons at (847) 923-6742 or mrons@schaumburg.com.
