The State of Illinois has empowered municipalities, counties and townships to establish and administer local Adopt-A-Highway Programs in accordance with Public Act 87-1118. The Village of Schaumburg, as a sponsoring jurisdiction, has established a cooperative program for civic-minded organizations as a means of promoting and accomplishing the mutual goal of maintaining litter-free rights-of-way throughout the Village of Schaumburg. Schaumburg’s Adopt-A-Highway Program is administered by the Engineering and Public Works Department.
