Submittal Requirements

• Submit a commercial permit application through the OpenGov Permit Portal. 
• Plat of Survey (PDF) indicating proposed location

Required Inspections

• Location verification
• Rough electrical if applicable
• Final inspection verifying removal of trailer

All inspections require a 24 hour minimum advanced notice. Schedule inspections up to 4 p.m. on the business day prior to the requested inspection date by submitting a request through the Permit Portal or calling Permit Services at 847-923-4420.

Code Requirements

• Contractor's offices, storage areas, equipment sheds and trailers may be allowed in all zoning districts if required for a permitted construction project. It must be removed within thirty (30) days of the completion of the construction project for which it was installed.

• Temporary real estate offices in trailers will require a temporary use permit if trailer is located in any new construction project and used for the sale of units within that project. The permit will be valid for a period of six (6) months or until the first model unit for the project is completed, whichever occurs first.
