Submittal Requirements
- Submit a commercial permit application through the OpenGov Permit Portal.
- Plat of Survey (PDF) indicating proposed location
Required Inspections
- Location verification
- Rough electrical if applicable
- Final inspection verifying removal of trailer
All inspections require a 24 hour minimum advanced notice. Schedule inspections up to 4 p.m. on the business day prior to the requested inspection date by submitting a request through the Permit Portal or calling Permit Services at 847-923-4420.
Code Requirements

Contractor's offices, storage areas, equipment sheds and trailers may be allowed in all zoning districts if required for a permitted construction project. It must be removed within thirty (30) days of the completion of the construction project for which it was installed.

Temporary real estate offices in trailers will require a temporary use permit if trailer is located in any new construction project and used for the sale of units within that project. The permit will be valid for a period of six (6) months or until the first model unit for the project is completed, whichever occurs first.
