Installation of a temporary sign on a premise requires a permit. Signage in the village is governed by the Sign Ordinance.

 


Permit Fees

  • $12: Each 10 day increment for all buildings
    • Valid up to 60 days per calendar year


Permit Submittal Requirements

  1. Complete and submit the online Sign Permit Application.
  2. Written landlord approval
  3. Ground Sign Drawing Set:
    • Dimensioned sign drawings with foundation shown
    • Site plan or plat of survey indicating sign location
    • Landscape plan indicating type and number of plants (only for new or changing the base with existing signs)

  • All inspections require a 24 hour minimum advanced notice. Schedule inspections up to 4 p.m. on the business day prior to the requested inspection date by calling Permit Services at 847-923-4420.
  • Construction is required to be inspected at different phases of development according to the project type.
  • Construction must remain accessible and exposed for inspection purposes until approved by the Inspector.
  • The printed permit card must be clearly visible on site along with the approved as noted permit set, readily available to the Inspector.
