Valet parking benefits businesses and their patrons by helping alleviate perceived parking deficiencies, enhancing customer service, and encouraging maximum use of less accessible parking spaces. However, unregulated valet parking may cause traffic flow stoppages, unanticipated traffic movements, parking violations, and unauthorized use of public areas and private parking spaces.

Regular/Long Term Valet Parking Approval

A Valet Parking Application must be filled out and submitted to the Community Development Department, along with the applicable zoning fee and associated documents. Valet parking plans are reviewed by the Community Development, Transportation, Fire, and Police Departments, and then forwarded to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a public hearing. Upon review by the Zoning Board of Appeals, the plan is then forwarded to the Village Board for final approval.

Special Event/Temporary Valet Parking Approval

Valet parking permits for valet parking operations that are no longer than seven consecutive days in duration and for which will occur no more than five times in a consecutive 365-day time frame on the same property may be approved by the Director of Community Development if all other provisions of the Valet Parking section of the Municipal Code are followed, a Temporary Valet Parking Application is submitted, and the applicable fees and associated documents are submitted.

Valet Business License

Any company providing valet services in the Village must be licensed and meet specific insurance requirements.

If there are any other questions, feel free to contact the Community Development Department at 847-923-4430.
