Every charitable organization that solicits or intends to solicit contributions in the village by door-to-door solicitation or by the use of public streets and public ways must apply for a license prior to the solicitation.

Applications must submitted at least (30) days prior to the event or planned solicitation activity. All late applications shall be charged a late fee of $50 in accordance with Section 41.01 of the Municipal Code.

Charitable organizations are allowed to fundraise no more than four days per year. Fundraising on public streets will not be allowed from November 1 to March 31. Please view the calendar to see the not-for-profit schedule. Solicitation is from sunrise to sunset only.

Intersections approved for safe fundraising are:

  • Mall Drive/Woodfield Road - expected construction in 2019
  • Roselle Road/Valley Lake Drive
  • Plum Grove Road/Schaumburg Road (not allowed Labor Day weekend)
  • Roselle Road/Wise Road
  • Schaumburg Road/Meacham Road

Please note that the intersection of Schaumburg Road and Barrington Road is no longer approved for solicitation.

Charitable organizations are required to do the following:

  • Apply for a charitable license through the Finance Department, 847-895-4500 or fax 847-923-2409.
  • Applications will be submitted to the Village Board for review and approval. Village Board meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Licenses will be mailed no later than one week prior to the event.
