Schaumburg’s sprinkling ordinance allows sprinkling only between the hours of 5pm and 11am throughout the entire year. The best time to water lawns and shrubs to keep them in healthy condition during the summer months is in the early morning or late evening hours.

Newly Planted Sod

If a resident has newly planted sod, watering any time of the day or night for a period of 30 days to promote the root structure is allowed.

Hand Watering

The sprinkling ordinance does not restrict hand watering, which may be done at any time at the homeowner’s discretion.
