Village of Schaumburg's Health Division licenses Home-Based Businesses who partake in Public Health related activities or services: Food, Body Care and Daycare. Please refer to our Home Occupation Resource Guide for details on applying for a license to operate a business in a residential area. Our Health Department performs annual inspections to verify they are in compliance with Public Health and safety related regulations.

A Home Daycare is a residence where at least one child comes to the home for care and the owner of the home receives financial gain from supervising the child. A Home Daycare is limited to watching no more than 8 children. The Home Daycare operator must obtain a Business License, approval from the Community Development Department, Fire Department and approval from the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services.
